National coach Vladimir Petkovic has today revealed the final squad list for the Algerian national team set to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled from December 18th to January 21st, 2026.
The squad announcement features the inclusion of two promising young talents from the national B team, Redouane Berkane and Adel Boulbina. This decision is likely to be welcomed by Algerian fans who have long advocated for their inclusion, especially after their impressive performances in the Arab Cup held in Qatar. Youssef Atal and Mohamed Amine Tougai, who also participated in the Arab Cup, have also been selected.
Notable absences from the squad include goalkeeper Alexis Guendouz, who is sidelined due to injury. He has been replaced by Anthony Mandrea, who returns to the national team after a considerable absence. Furthermore, Zineddine Belaid, the defender from JS Kabylie, has secured his place in the squad after successfully impressing the national coach during the recent training camp in November.
