Palestinian Teen Killed by Israeli Forces in Jenin, Raids Across West Bank

A Palestinian teenager was killed by Israeli forces during raids in Jenin and other cities throughout the West Bank. Several Palestinians were also arrested in the operations.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 16-year-old Mohammed Abahra was killed by Israeli fire near the town of Sila al-Harithiya, in the Jenin governorate of the northern West Bank. Israeli forces are reportedly withholding his body.

The Israeli military issued a statement claiming its forces killed an armed Palestinian who allegedly threw an explosive device at soldiers. They stated there were no injuries to their personnel.

Reports indicate that the deceased teen was from the town of Yamoun, adjacent to Sila al-Harithiya. Eyewitnesses say Israeli forces entered Sila al-Harithiya with several military vehicles, and there were no confrontations with Palestinians prior to the shooting, contradicting the Israeli military’s claims.

In a separate incident, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crew in the town of al-Ram, north of Jerusalem, transported a young man to the hospital after he was shot in the leg with live ammunition. This occurred during clashes between Palestinian youths and the Israeli army.

Israeli forces also reportedly raided the village of Abwein, north of Ramallah, firing sound and gas bombs. Soldiers allegedly stormed several homes, using some as sniper positions. All entrances to the village were closed, preventing residents from entering or leaving.

Other areas in the Ramallah area that were raided include the towns of Sinjil, Arura, and Kafr Malik.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), Israeli forces raided the town of Beta, south of Nablus, and arrested a 14-year-old child, Tim Raed Hamayel.

Voice of Palestine radio reported that Israeli forces intercepted a vehicle during a raid on the town of Anabta, east of Tulkarm. Several young men were detained and abused before being released.

The raids and arrests continue across the central West Bank.
