Thunderstorms Forecast Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, December 14, 2025 – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for thunderstorms today, according to the National Meteorological Office. A weather alert has been issued, indicating significant rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to impact a number of regions throughout the day and into tomorrow.

The alert specifically names the provinces of Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, El Bayadh, Naama, Bechar, Beni Abbes, and Tindouf as being at risk. The anticipated rainfall is expected to begin at 9:00 AM today and continue until dawn tomorrow, Monday.

In a separate weather advisory, the National Meteorological Office warned of further thunderstorms and heavy rainfall affecting other provinces. This second alert, effective from 6:00 PM today until dawn on Monday, covers the provinces of Ouargla, El Menia, Touggourt, El Oued, Ghardaia, Tamanrasset, In Guezzam, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
