Oran Customs Seize Large Cocaine Shipment in Joint Operation

Oran, Algeria – Algerian Customs in Oran have dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region, seizing a substantial quantity of cocaine and other contraband in a meticulously planned operation. This successful intervention underscores the ongoing commitment to safeguarding national security and public safety.

According to a statement released by the Regional Directorate of Customs in Oran, the operation was carried out by the Mobile Inspection Brigade, in collaboration with a detachment from the People’s National Army. The coordinated effort resulted in the seizure of 18.074 kilograms of cocaine and 3.380 kilograms of processed cannabis.

Beyond the narcotics, authorities also confiscated 2,228,000 Algerian Dinars in cash, believed to be proceeds from illicit activities. The operation further led to the impoundment of four passenger vehicles and a motorcycle, all allegedly used in the criminal network’s operations.

The operation culminated in the arrest of five individuals, who have been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Flaoussen Court. They will face prosecution in accordance with established legal procedures.
