Algiers, December 15, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has signed a presidential decree granting a full pardon to Mohamed El Amine Belghith, who was serving a final sentence. The announcement was made earlier today.
The decree, issued by the President, effectively terminates the remainder of Belghith’s sentence. This decision follows established constitutional procedures.
According to a statement released by the Presidency, the pardon is based on Articles 91 (paragraphs 7 and 8) and 182 of the Constitution. These articles grant the President the power to issue pardons and outline the necessary conditions for doing so.
