Severe Thunderstorms, Hail Expected in Several Algerian Regions

DZWatch Exclusive: Several eastern and interior provinces of Algeria are bracing for severe thunderstorms and potential hailstorms today, according to the national meteorological services.

A special weather alert has been issued, warning of locally significant thunderstorms capable of producing rainfall accumulations of up to 40mm. The storms are expected to be accompanied by hail, posing a risk to property and agriculture.

The affected provinces include Laghouat, Djelfa, M’Sila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and Setif. The meteorological services indicate that the period of highest risk will be between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM local time.
