The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion has officially launched a new digital platform designed to manage and monitor import programs for raw materials for the first half of 2026. This initiative underscores the ongoing digitalization efforts within the sector and aims to strengthen governance mechanisms in foreign trade.
Minister Kamal Rezig presided over the launch, emphasizing the platform’s role in streamlining import processes and enhancing transparency. The platform is expected to facilitate faster file processing and ensure greater accuracy in data related to the prospective programs of economic enterprises involved in production, ultimately allowing for a more precise assessment of the national market’s needs.
The platform is designed to improve the tracking of raw material imports by providing a centralized and efficient system for managing related data and approvals. This is a critical step toward optimizing the import process and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
This initiative aligns with the broader goal of streamlining imports and directing them towards meeting the demands of national production. The platform is exclusively for economic enterprises holding activity codes 01 and 07 in the commercial register, thus linking import operations to the actual needs of the production sector.
The new digital platform is anticipated to support the national economy and enhance its competitiveness by improving import planning, rationalizing expenditures, and establishing digital transformation as a fundamental pillar for the development of Algeria’s foreign trade system. The government hopes this new system will significantly boost efficiency. Further details will be released in the coming weeks.
