Bus Accident in El M’Ghair Injures Dozens

A major traffic accident in El M’Ghair province resulted in injuries to 37 people early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on National Route 03 in the municipality of Oum Etour.

According to local Civil Protection services, units from Oum Etour, supported by the main unit and the sector unit of Still, responded to the scene following the reported overturning of a passenger bus. The bus was operating on the Tlemcen-El Oued route at the time of the accident.

DZWatch has learned that the accident took place on National Route 03, within the Oum Etour municipality. Initial reports suggest the bus veered off course before overturning. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by local authorities.

The Civil Protection statement detailed that 22 of the injured were transported to the hospital in Oum Etour for treatment. An additional 15 individuals with more serious injuries were transferred to the hospital in El M’Ghair to receive the necessary medical care.
