Algeria Post Issues New Stamp Honoring Arabic Language and Literature

Algiers, Algeria – December 18, 2025 – Algeria Post announced today the issuance of a new postage stamp commemorating the inaugural edition of the President of the Republic’s Prize for Literature and the Arabic Language. The announcement coincided with the celebration of International Arabic Language Day and the awards ceremony for the prestigious literary prize.

The central director of the Directorate of Stamps and Philately at Algeria Post, Siham Bouazara, stated that the issuance of the stamp is “a confirmation of the status of the Arabic language and a celebration of national creativity.” She emphasized the importance of recognizing and promoting the Arabic language, a cornerstone of Algerian identity and culture.

The new stamp, measuring 90 by 50 millimeters, will be available in sheets and accompanied by a descriptive card in four languages, a commemorative envelope, and a first-day-of-issue cancellation mark. Algeria Post confirmed that the stamp will be available for purchase at all main post offices across the country.

This initiative underscores the Algerian government’s commitment to supporting and promoting the Arabic language and literature, recognizing its vital role in preserving national heritage and fostering intellectual and artistic expression.
