Algiers – The President’s Prize for Arabic Literature and Language has witnessed unprecedented interest this year, according to Saleh Belaid, President of the Supreme Council for the Arabic Language. Belaid made the announcement during a ceremony commemorating the International Day of the Arabic Language, overseen by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib at the International Conference Center.
“This edition saw a record number of submissions, unlike the previous 10 editions under the name ‘Supreme Council for the Arabic Language Prize’,” Belaid stated. He revealed that a total of 225 research papers were submitted, with 215 meeting the competition criteria.
Belaid emphasized that all submissions underwent a rigorous evaluation process via a smart platform, overseen by a specialized scientific committee. He explained that the evaluation criteria were applied meticulously, with each work receiving three separate assessments.
According to Belaid, all winning works were swiftly prepared and printed and are now available on the Council’s website. He also announced the opening of nominations for the next edition of the prize.
“We congratulate the winners on their achievements and invite all those dedicated to serving the Arabic language to participate in the second edition of the President’s Prize for Arabic Literature and Language in 2026. Details can be found on our website starting this evening. We encourage everyone to contribute to this prestigious award,” Belaid concluded.
The President’s Prize aims to promote and celebrate excellence in Arabic language and literature across the nation.
