Algeria and Chad Explore Enhanced Cooperation in Key Sectors

Algiers – Algerian and Chadian officials convened today to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the industry, mining, and energy sectors. The meeting, held in Algiers, signals a renewed commitment to fostering economic ties between the two nations.

The Algerian Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, presided over the working session alongside the Chadian Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology, Ndolenodji Alixe Naïmbaye. Also in attendance were the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy and Mines, Karima Bekir Tafer.

The discussions centered on identifying opportunities for joint ventures and knowledge sharing across the industry, mining, and hydrocarbon sectors. Both delegations expressed a strong desire to leverage their respective strengths to promote sustainable development and economic growth.

“This meeting underscores the importance Algeria places on its relationship with Chad,” stated Minister Bachir during opening remarks. “We believe that closer collaboration in these key sectors will be mutually beneficial and contribute to the prosperity of both our nations.”

Minister Naïmbaye echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Chad’s commitment to exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation. “Chad possesses significant potential in the mining and energy sectors, and we are eager to partner with Algeria to unlock this potential,” she noted. “Algeria’s expertise and experience in these areas are invaluable to us.”

The meeting concluded with a commitment to establish working groups that will further explore specific areas of collaboration and develop concrete proposals for joint projects. These proposals are expected to be presented at a follow-up meeting in the coming months. This initiative highlights the dedication of both Algeria and Chad to building a stronger, more prosperous future through strategic partnerships.
