Algiers – The Algerian Ministry of Health has announced the launch of the second phase of the national polio vaccination campaign. The campaign is scheduled to run from Sunday, December 21st to Saturday, December 27th, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, this nationwide effort aims to protect children from the debilitating disease of polio. The Ministry has mobilized significant resources to ensure the campaign’s success and widespread reach.
More than 7,000 vaccination centers will be operating across the country. In addition to these fixed locations, mobile medical teams will be deployed to reach remote and isolated communities. This strategy is designed to guarantee comprehensive coverage and accessibility for all targeted children.
The vaccination campaign specifically targets children aged between two months and five years. Children who received the initial polio vaccine dose in the first phase of the campaign are encouraged to participate in this second phase. The campaign also welcomes children who did not receive the vaccine during the initial phase but have since reached the minimum age of two months.
The Ministry of Health urges all parents and guardians to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure their children are vaccinated against polio. This proactive measure is essential for safeguarding the health and well-being of Algeria’s children and contributing to the global effort to eradicate this preventable disease.
The success of this national vaccination campaign is crucial in maintaining Algeria’s polio-free status and protecting future generations from this devastating illness.
