Algiers, December 19, 2025 – A significant fire ripped through several clothing stores in the capital city early Friday morning.
According to Civil Protection services, emergency units responded to a fire that broke out at approximately 3:22 AM in two villas being used as clothing retail outlets. The incident occurred in the 11 December neighborhood, within the municipality of Dely Ibrahim, in the district of Cheraga.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control and extinguished it completely by 5:50 AM. Authorities reported no casualties as a result of the incident.
DZWatch understands that the Civil Protection deployed considerable resources to combat the fire, including eight fire trucks, one ambulance, and a mechanical ladder.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities are assessing the extent of the material damage caused to the affected businesses. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
