The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure held a working meeting Saturday to assess the progress of the national digital transformation strategy within the sector. The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, was led by Secretary-General Ali Boulrbah and follows directives from Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui.
The meeting brought together key central ministry officials, a digitalization expert, regional directors of public works from across the country, and representatives from affiliated organizations and institutions via video conference. Officials from the central directorate of information systems also participated.
The session began with a comprehensive presentation outlining the current status of digitalization within the public works sector. This included an overview of ongoing projects, future plans, and proposed practical solutions to support and enhance the effectiveness of the digital transformation process.
Regional directors of public works provided updates on the progress of digitalization efforts at the local level. They also raised concerns related to public works and basic infrastructure projects in their respective regions.
Secretary-General Boulrbah emphasized the importance of updating sectoral data and leveraging the digital platform to ensure real-time and accurate monitoring of various projects. He stressed the need to expand digitalization across all relevant structures, in line with presidential directives, aiming for a comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation within the sector by the end of the year. This initiative is considered crucial for improving efficiency and transparency in the management of public works projects nationwide.
The Ministry views digital transformation as a key priority for modernizing its operations and improving service delivery to the public. This meeting signifies a commitment to achieving tangible results in the digitalization of the public works sector.
