Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov this evening in Cairo.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the talks took place on the sidelines of Attaf’s participation in the second session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum at the ministerial level.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the existing relations of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Russia, focusing on upcoming bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening the notable momentum witnessed in Algerian-Russian relations. Both parties expressed a commitment to further enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
Furthermore, Minister Attaf and Minister Lavrov exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on the latest developments in the Sahel region. The discussions highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to address the challenges facing the region and promote stability.
