Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, participated yesterday evening in a coordination meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Tripartite Mechanism of Libya’s neighboring countries (Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia). The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the second session of the African-Russian Partnership Forum at the ministerial level.
During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views and analyses regarding the latest political and security developments in the Libyan arena. Discussions centered on regional efforts aimed at supporting the peaceful settlement process and enhancing stability in the country.
The Foreign Ministers of the three countries agreed to deepen consultations and strengthen joint coordination in preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Tripartite Mechanism, which is expected to be hosted by the Republic of Tunisia early next year.
The ongoing instability in Libya remains a key concern for Algeria and its neighbors, prompting increased diplomatic efforts to foster a lasting resolution to the conflict. Algeria continues to play a pivotal role in regional initiatives aimed at promoting peace and stability in Libya.
The meeting underscores the commitment of Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia to work collaboratively towards a stable and secure Libya, recognizing the significant impact the situation in Libya has on the entire region.
