Algeria Secures Second Place at African Youth Games

Algeria has achieved a remarkable second-place finish at the African Youth Games in Angola 2025. The national teams secured a total of 101 medals, placing them just behind South Africa in the overall standings.

The Algerian contingent amassed an impressive haul of 39 gold, 26 silver, and 36 bronze medals. This strong performance underscores the dedication and talent of Algeria’s young athletes across various sporting disciplines.

South Africa topped the medal table with 105 medals, including 45 gold, 43 silver, and 17 bronze. Egypt finished third, collecting 76 medals comprised of 33 gold, 22 silver, and 21 bronze.

The African Youth Games, held in Luanda, Angola, from December 10th to 20th, concluded on Saturday with a formal closing ceremony. The event showcased the continent’s rising sporting stars and fostered a spirit of healthy competition among the participating nations.
