Algiers, DZWatch – Several provinces across Algeria are experiencing heavy thunderstorms today, according to the National Meteorological Office. A significant weather disturbance is impacting regions throughout the north, central, eastern, and southern parts of the country.
The meteorological office issued a warning indicating that the locally significant thunderstorms are expected to affect a wide range of provinces. These include Algiers, Sidi Bel Abbes, Souk Ahras, Tipaza, El Oued, and Tissemsilt. Furthermore, the provinces of Laghouat, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Relizane, Bejaia, Ghardaia, M’Sila, Tiaret, Mila, Oum El Bouaghi, Tebessa, Guelma, Tizi Ouzou, Chlef, and Batna are also under alert.
Western and Eastern Provinces Affected
The weather service also forecasts thunderstorms in Mostaganem, Annaba, Setif, Ain Temouchent, Djelfa, Tlemcen, Constantine, Skikda, El Bayadh, El M’Ghair, Jijel, Khenchela, Ain Defla, Biskra, El Tarf, Saida, Naama, Boumerdes, Bouira, Mascara, Ouled Djellal, Oran, and Blida during the same period.
Authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution, especially those using roadways and residents in areas prone to flooding. The public is advised to stay informed by monitoring weather forecasts and heeding any warnings issued as the weather situation evolves.
