Severe Cold and Snowfall Expected in Algerian Highlands

DZWatch Exclusive: Algeria is bracing for a significant drop in temperatures and snowfall across several regions, according to the National Meteorological Office. A cold snap is expected to grip the country, impacting both coastal and inland areas.

The northern regions are forecast to experience partly cloudy conditions in the central and western provinces. The eastern regions will see a mix of rain and sunshine. Crucially, snowfall is anticipated in the central and western highlands, particularly in areas exceeding 1000 meters in altitude.

Coastal temperatures are predicted to range between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. Inland areas will experience temperatures between 9 and 17 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach up to 40 kilometers per hour in certain areas. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the cold and potential disruptions caused by the weather.

The southern regions of Algeria will experience milder conditions, with a mix of sunny and cloudy weather. Temperatures in the south are expected to range from 12 to 26 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds in the southern regions are predicted to reach 30 kilometers per hour.
