Algiers, December 21, 2025 – The Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Kauther Krikou, today announced the official inauguration of the National Sectoral Committee for Quality of Life. This significant step coincides with the launch of a national digital platform designed to monitor and evaluate the implementation of projects aimed at enhancing the overall quality of life for Algerian citizens.
Minister Krikou made the announcement during her address at the opening of the national conference on quality of life, themed “National Achievements, Development Challenges.” The conference, held under the patronage of the Prime Minister, underscored the government’s commitment to improving public policies and fostering greater inter-sectoral coordination among key stakeholders.
“This initiative,” the Minister stated, “is crucial for ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of completed projects, particularly the model sustainable school project, which the Ministry aims to implement nationwide.” She emphasized that quality of life is a strategic priority for the Algerian state, aligning with the November 2020 Constitution, which guarantees citizens the right to a healthy, safe, and stable environment.
Krikou further explained that the initiative is part of a comprehensive vision to build a productive and competitive economy while simultaneously preserving natural resources and achieving sustainable development. The digital platform will allow for greater transparency and accountability in the execution of quality of life projects across the country.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in implementing the reforms initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which encompass various aspects of life, including improving public services, constructing housing, health, and education projects, increasing salaries, supporting youth, and strengthening infrastructure and major structural projects. The inauguration of the committee and the launch of the platform represent a significant advancement in the government’s commitment to improving the well-being of all Algerians.
