Oran Port has significantly enhanced its logistical capabilities with the acquisition of new Rubber-Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes. This strategic move aims to accelerate operations, increase container handling capacity, and improve overall flow within the port’s container yards.
This investment is part of a broader initiative led by the Ministry of Transportation to revitalize the national port system and enhance its operational readiness according to modern standards. The goal is to effectively meet the demands of growing commercial traffic.
The national port modernization program also includes upgrades to Algiers Port, with the acquisition of forklift trucks and reach stackers. These improvements have already contributed to tangible results, demonstrably increasing operational efficiency and improving the quality of port services.
This expansion of infrastructure and reinforcement of equipment reflects a vision focused on strengthening the operational performance of national ports and achieving advanced levels of efficiency and service. The upgrades are expected to have a positive impact on trade and economic activity in the region.
