Cairo, Egypt – The Second Ministerial Conference of the Russian-African Partnership Forum concluded today with the adoption of a joint statement, signaling a shared political will to deepen cooperation across various sectors. The conference, held in Cairo, brought together ministers and high-level representatives from Russia and numerous African nations.
The joint statement underscores a commitment to bolstering economic, trade, and investment ties between Russia and Africa. Participants emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to promote peace and security, advance sustainable development goals, and realize mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
The document reaffirms the strategic level of cooperation achieved between Africa and Russia, highlighting the active implementation of agreements reached during the first and second Russia-Africa Summits held in Sochi (2019) and St. Petersburg (2023). These agreements include the Action Plan of the Russian-African Partnership Forum for the period 2023-2026.
Looking ahead, preparations are already underway for the next Action Plan, covering the period 2026-2029, with the aim of adopting it at the third Russia-Africa Summit. The participants expressed appreciation for the outcomes of the first Ministerial Conference in Sochi and reiterated their commitment to implementing the joint statements adopted there.
The statement also reinforces the shared responsibility of African nations and the Russian Federation in fostering a just and stable world order. This order is to be founded on principles of sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs, respect for territorial integrity, and the right of all peoples to self-determination, as enshrined in UN General Assembly resolutions.
