Industry Ministry Activates Anti-Corruption Strategy Committee

The Ministry of Industry has officially launched a leadership committee dedicated to implementing the National Strategy for Transparency, Prevention, and Fight Against Corruption within the industrial sector. Minister of Industry, Yahya Bachir, presided over the inauguration ceremony held this Sunday.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, this initiative aligns with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and is a direct response to the Supreme Authority’s strategy for promoting transparency and combating corruption. The overarching goal is to solidify principles of good governance and foster a culture of transparency and integrity throughout the industry.

The newly formed committee will be responsible for developing a practical framework to translate the national strategy’s objectives into actionable steps. It will also oversee the implementation process and monitor progress, ensuring the strategy remains effective and relevant.

Furthermore, the committee is tasked with proposing mechanisms to enhance administrative efficiency and boost transparency within the sector. These improvements aim to cultivate an environment of trust and promote sound management practices across all levels of the industry.

This activation follows the strengthening of the General Inspectorate of the Ministry, particularly after the appointment of Judge Djazia Djoumana Mezaach to lead the department. The move signals a renewed commitment to accountability and ethical conduct within the Ministry.

In his address, Minister Bachir emphasized the crucial role of the committee in establishing a culture of transparency and integrity. He urged all stakeholders to engage responsibly and actively to ensure the successful achievement of the strategy’s objectives in preventing and combating corruption. He also stressed the importance of teamwork in achieving the goals of the strategy in the field of preventing and combating corruption, and promoting good governance within the sector.

The Ministry believes that this initiative will significantly contribute to a more transparent and efficient industrial sector, ultimately benefiting the Algerian economy.
