DZWatch Exclusive: December 22, 2025 – The National Meteorology Office has issued a special weather advisory, predicting significant snowfall, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall across numerous provinces in Algeria. The advisory, classified as Level Two (Orange), indicates that snowfall accumulation could range between 5 and 10 centimeters in areas exceeding 1100 meters in altitude.
The provinces affected by the snowfall warning include: Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Tiaret, Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Batna, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, and Tebessa.
According to the weather service, the snowfall warning is in effect from 3:00 AM today, Monday, until 1:00 AM tomorrow, Tuesday.
Furthermore, the advisory indicates continued rainfall in the provinces of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, and Relizane until midday today.
The eastern provinces of Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Constantine, Guelma, and Souk Ahras are also expected to experience rainfall ranging from 20 to 30 millimeters, with localized amounts potentially exceeding 40 millimeters. This rainfall is anticipated to begin at 6:00 PM today and continue until 6:00 AM tomorrow, Tuesday.
