National Gendarmerie Issues Warning for National Route 13

Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria – December 22, 2025 – The National Gendarmerie has issued a warning to motorists using National Route 13, specifically in the vicinity of Dhaya, due to hazardous weather conditions.

According to a statement released earlier today, the National Gendarmerie is advising drivers to exercise extreme caution along the stretch of Route 13 connecting the municipalities of Tilagh and Dhaya in Sidi Bel Abbes province. The warning is in response to reports of hailstorms impacting visibility and road conditions in the area.

Units of the National Gendarmerie are currently deployed to the affected area to alert drivers to the potential dangers and to facilitate the flow of traffic.

The Gendarmerie is urging all drivers traveling on National Route 13 to reduce their speed, maintain a safe following distance, and remain vigilant for sudden changes in weather conditions. The safety of all road users is the top priority during this period of inclement weather. Drivers are advised to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

This warning comes as a reminder to all motorists to be prepared for unpredictable weather patterns, especially during the winter months. Regular vehicle maintenance and a well-stocked emergency kit are also recommended for safe travel. The National Gendarmerie continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
