Ghardaia Hosts Inaugural National Chanting Festival

GHARDAIA – The city of Ghardaia is currently hosting the inaugural edition of the National Cultural Festival of Chanting, a vibrant celebration of traditional and contemporary Islamic vocal art. The festival commenced last night, Sunday, and promises a rich program of performances and cultural exchange.

More than 30 chanting groups, representing diverse regions across Algeria, have converged on Ghardaia to participate in this landmark event. A total of 33 groups are showcasing their unique styles and interpretations of Islamic chanting, known as Inshad, captivating audiences with their melodic renditions of religious poetry and devotional songs.
