Minister of Communication Engages with Parliamentarians

Algiers – The Minister of Communication, Zohir Bouamama, recently held meetings with several members of parliament from both houses. These discussions aimed to strengthen coordination and continuous consultation between the executive and legislative branches, fostering the advancement of the communication sector and addressing citizen concerns at both national and local levels.

The meetings were conducted in a spirit of constructive dialogue. Key topics included various files related to the media and communication sector, particularly those concerning improved media performance, support for media outlets, and the promotion of institutional communication in line with current transformations.

Participants included Mohamed Nini, Vice-President of the People’s National Assembly (APN) responsible for legislation and representative for Skikda; El Ouardi Braji, APN representative for Tebessa; Mohamed Mir, APN representative for Sidi Bel Abbes; and Hamidi Mengour, member of the Council of the Nation representing the same wilaya.

During the meetings, Minister Bouamama emphasized the sector’s commitment to maintaining open communication with parliamentary representatives and listening to their suggestions and concerns. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to develop the national media landscape and enhance its role in serving citizens, while solidifying professional and responsible journalistic practices.

These engagements are part of the government’s broader effort to solidify institutional dialogue and enhance coordination with elected officials. This collaboration aims to improve public policies related to the communication sector and ensure they are effectively implemented.
