Algeria and Venezuela Explore Enhanced Economic and Political Ties

Algiers – Lamine Osmani, head of the People’s Voice Party, recently met with the Venezuelan Ambassador to Algeria, Emad Saab Saab, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. The meeting, attended by several members of the party’s national political bureau, focused on key international and regional issues, and explored avenues for bolstering cooperation between Algeria and Venezuela, particularly in the political and economic spheres.

Both parties emphasized the importance of translating the desires of both countries’ presidents into tangible actions, including the establishment of a direct flight route between Algiers and Caracas. They also discussed intensifying economic and agricultural exchanges, with a focus on exporting Algerian products to Venezuela under a win-win framework. Furthermore, the discussion touched on activating party diplomacy through stronger ties between the People’s Voice Party and the ruling party in Venezuela.

The meeting highlighted the significance of exchanging political experiences and expertise between the two nations, as well as enhancing party coordination in international forums to promote peace, international justice, and respect for national sovereignty. The importance of political parties in fostering understanding between peoples and solidifying South-South cooperation was also underscored.

Ambassador Saab expressed his appreciation for Algeria’s stances on various just causes around the world. He also extended his condolences to the People’s Voice Party on the passing of the late Najib Hattoum, advisor to the party leader and deputy mayor of El Harrach. Both sides agreed to hold further meetings in the future to continue exploring opportunities for collaboration.

This renewed focus on bilateral ties signals a commitment from both Algeria and Venezuela to deepen their relationship across multiple sectors. The potential for increased trade and cooperation could yield significant benefits for both nations.
