Algeria, Kazakhstan Explore Pharmaceutical & Alternative Medicine Ties

Algiers – Algeria and Kazakhstan are exploring avenues to expand bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and alternative medicine, DZWatch has learned. The discussions aim to diversify international partnerships within the health sector.

The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouidri, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Algeria, Anvarbek Akhmetov, on Monday to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting focused on developing bilateral ties between the two countries.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry, the meeting provided a platform to exchange views on strengthening cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. Key areas of interest include pharmaceutical production, manufacturing, and the exchange of technical expertise. The goal is to serve the interests of both nations and meet the needs of the Algerian and Kazakh markets.

Alternative medicine and herbal remedies were also a significant point of discussion. Kazakhstan has considerable experience in this field. Alternative medicine encompasses a range of health practices outside traditional medicine, relying on natural remedies and ancient techniques to promote health and treat illnesses through a holistic approach.

During the meeting, Minister Kouidri expressed Algeria’s readiness to export locally manufactured pharmaceutical products. He emphasized the potential for manufacturing essential medicines within Algeria to meet the needs of the Kazakh market and neighboring regions. He also highlighted the importance of increased coordination between the two countries to leverage Kazakhstan’s expertise in alternative medicine and facilitate the exchange of relevant knowledge.

This collaboration could lead to significant advancements in both countries’ healthcare sectors, fostering innovation and providing access to a wider range of treatment options.
