Trade Ministry Mandates Data Update for Veteran Importers

ALGIERS – The Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion has announced a new regulatory measure requiring veteran importers to update their information on the SIDJILCOM platform. This initiative aims to modernize and update databases related to import operations, particularly concerning raw materials.

According to a notice issued by the Ministry, economic operators who established their commercial registers in 1999 or earlier, whether in the ‘Fonctionnement’ (Operation) or ‘Équipement’ (Equipment) category, are required to access their accounts via the National Center of the Commercial Register’s SIDJILCOM platform. The purpose is to retrieve the complete re-registration history (date of re-matriculation).

This measure is designed to enable these operators to complete the registration process on the digital platform dedicated to managing and monitoring raw material import operations. The platform relies on accurate and up-to-date data to ensure the smooth functioning of trade operations.

For economic operators registered from the year 2000 onwards, the Ministry clarified that they are only required to enter the year of commencement of activity as recorded in their current commercial register, without needing to retrieve re-registration dates.

The Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion emphasized that this action is part of its efforts to simplify administrative procedures, enhance transparency, and ensure greater efficiency in monitoring and regulating import activities. The Ministry urges all concerned operators to comply with these directives to avoid any delays or obstacles in the processing of their files.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to streamlining trade processes and fostering a more transparent business environment.
