Algiers, December 23, 2025 – Algeria and Kazakhstan have initiated discussions regarding industrial cooperation and technology transfer, signaling a deepening of bilateral relations between the two nations. The move underscores a shared commitment to exploring opportunities for mutual growth and development across various industrial sectors.
The Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, received the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Algeria, Anvarbek Akhmetov, at the Ministry headquarters earlier today. Ambassador Akhmetov, who assumed his role on December 18, 2024, is the first Kazakh ambassador to Algeria, marking a strategic step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, both parties explored potential collaborations in diverse industrial domains, including iron and steel, leather and textiles, mechanics, and manufacturing industries. A key focus was placed on the exchange of expertise and cutting-edge technologies, as well as investment in joint ventures aimed at bolstering the productive capacities of both Algeria and Kazakhstan.
Minister Bachir emphasized Algeria’s readiness to support and promote industrial partnerships, fostering an environment conducive to investment and technology transfer. He highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in strategic and innovative industrial sectors, paving the way for mutually beneficial growth.
“We are committed to creating a supportive ecosystem for industrial cooperation,” stated Minister Bachir. “Our aim is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technology, enabling both Algeria and Kazakhstan to enhance their industrial capabilities and achieve sustainable economic development.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to develop a joint framework for implementing industrial projects with strategic significance. They also committed to intensifying technical and technological cooperation, serving the interests of both nations and fostering economic integration.
