Algiers, Algeria – The National Meteorology Office has issued a weather alert for several provinces across Algeria, forecasting heavy snowfall and thunderstorms. A Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued, indicating a potential for hazardous weather conditions.
The provinces expected to experience snowfall include: Tizi Ouzou, Tlemcen, Batna, M’Sila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and Setif. The alert for snowfall is in effect from 6:00 AM Wednesday until 6:00 AM Thursday.
Simultaneously, a separate weather alert has been issued for thunderstorms impacting the following provinces during the same timeframe: Sidi Bel Abbes, Tissemsilt, Laghouat, Relizane, Bejaia, Tiaret, Tizi Ouzou, Chlef, Mostaganem, Ain Temouchent, Djelfa, Tlemcen, El Bayadh, Ain Defla, Medea, Biskra, Saida, Naama, Bouira, Mascara, Ouled Djellal, and Oran.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates. Drivers should exercise caution on the roads, and individuals should avoid outdoor activities during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
