Snow and Thunderstorms Forecast for Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, Algeria – The National Meteorology Office has issued a weather alert for several provinces across Algeria, forecasting snowfall and heavy thunderstorms. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and take necessary precautions.

A level one (yellow) alert indicates that the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Bejaia, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and Batna are expected to experience snowfall beginning at 9 PM today, Thursday, and lasting until 6 AM tomorrow, Friday.

In a separate special weather bulletin, the meteorological services warn of significant rainfall, potentially reaching between 20 and 40 millimeters, until 3 PM today, Thursday, in the provinces of Ain Temouchent and Oran. This heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding and disruptions to traffic.

Furthermore, considerable thunderstorms are anticipated from 6 AM today, Thursday, until 6 AM tomorrow, Friday, across a wide range of provinces, including:

Algiers, Tipaza, Sidi Bel Abbes, Chlef, Mostaganem, Relizane, Mascara, Tlemcen, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, Constantine, Mila, Guelma, El Tarf, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Tebessa, Batna, Khenchela, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Boumerdes, Blida, Medea, Tissemsilt, Tiaret, Djelfa, Laghouat, M’Sila, Biskra, El Oued, Ghardaia, Naama, and Bechar.
