Algiers, December 25, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has bestowed the National Merit Medal, at the rank of “Ahid,” upon the Mujahid, writer, and scholar, Sheikh Mohamed Salah Seddik. The prestigious award recognizes his distinguished scholarly and advocacy career, as well as his significant contributions to the promotion of moderation, centrism, and tolerance.
The investiture ceremony took place today, Thursday, at the Mufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture in Algiers. The event was overseen by the Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Bendouda, and the Advisor to the President in charge of Education, Higher Education, Vocational Training, and Culture, Nasr Eddine Ben Tayfour.
In attendance were several government ministers, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defense, and a host of national and cultural figures.
