Sharp Temperature Drop Brings Cold Wave to Several Algerian States

DZWatch has learned that a significant drop in temperatures is expected to bring a cold wave to several states across Algeria. The national weather service issued a warning on Saturday, indicating a marked decrease in temperatures in the coming days.

The affected states include Tébessa, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Sétif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Djelfa, Laghouat, El Bayadh, and Naâma. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the cold.

The weather service has urged citizens, particularly those in vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those with chronic illnesses, to stay indoors as much as possible and to dress warmly when venturing outside. Farmers are also advised to take measures to protect their livestock and crops from the expected frost.

The sudden change in weather conditions follows a period of relatively mild temperatures in many parts of the country. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are prepared to provide assistance to those in need. DZWatch will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
