Israeli Forces Besiege Qabatiya, Conduct Raids Across West Bank

Israeli occupation forces have imposed a complete siege on the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin in the northern West Bank, for the second consecutive day. A strict curfew is in effect, following a reported ramming and stabbing attack in the Beisan and Afula areas within the 1948 territories. The attack, which occurred Friday, resulted in the deaths of two Israelis and injuries to others.

The Israeli army identified the alleged perpetrator as Ahmed Abu Al-Rub from Qabatiya. Forces raided his family home, arresting his father and forcibly displacing his family. Measurements of the house were also taken, reportedly in preparation for its demolition.

In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces raided the town of Anata, near the city, early this morning. DZWatch sources report that soldiers fired live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas at Palestinian residents. Commercial properties were also targeted, with surveillance cameras confiscated and one young man arrested before the forces withdrew.

Raids and Searches Intensify

In related developments, Israeli forces raided the city of Dura and the town of Deir Samet, south of Hebron, conducting extensive search operations targeting numerous Palestinian homes. One Palestinian was arrested. Forces also entered the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron, where clashes erupted. Israeli troops reportedly used live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas during the confrontation.

Other areas affected by the raids included Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, and the towns of Tuqu’ and Khlaiel al-Louz, southeast of the city. Israeli military patrols were observed throughout these towns.

In a separate incident, the Israeli army stated that a gunman opened fire near the perimeter fence surrounding the Hashmonaim checkpoint, west of Ramallah in the West Bank, before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. The army deployed significant reinforcements to the area and initiated search operations, encircling several neighboring villages.

These escalations coincide with the ongoing Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip. Israeli military and settler violence in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, has reportedly intensified. This has led to the deaths of at least 1,103 Palestinians and injuries to approximately 11,000 others.
