According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algeria considers this unacceptable measure a blatant violation of the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. It also contravenes the fundamental tenets of the African continental order, most notably the principle of respecting the national borders of states.
This principle, established by the Organization of African Unity and reaffirmed by the African Union, serves as a cornerstone for maintaining peace, security, and stability across the continent.
Furthermore, Algeria believes the Israeli action poses a direct threat to peace, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa region.
In light of these developments, Algeria has reiterated its unwavering and complete support for the Federal Republic of Somalia in the face of this direct threat. The nation also recognizes the serious repercussions this recognition could have on Somalia’s security and stability, as well as the overall security and stability of the Horn of Africa.
Algeria reaffirms its commitment to upholding international law and the principles of territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.
