Germany Declines Analysis of Libyan Plane Black Box

Berlin, Germany – Germany has declined to analyze the black box of the Libyan “Falcon 50” aircraft that crashed recently, killing Libyan Chief of Staff Mohammed al-Haddad and four of his aides. The announcement was relayed by the Turkish investigation authority to the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity in Tripoli.

According to the Turkish authorities, Germany cited a lack of technical capabilities to handle the specific type of aircraft as the reason for their inability to conduct the black box analysis. The Ministry of Interior disclosed this information in a press statement late Friday.

The ministry further indicated that four other countries have been identified as possessing the necessary expertise to perform the analysis. Following unanimous agreement between the Libyan committee, the aviation authority, the Turkish Attorney General, and the Libyan Attorney General, the United Kingdom has been selected as a neutral party to complete the required technical procedures.

In related news, the Libyan investigation committee, which has been in Turkey for the past two days, visited the central operations room of the Gendarmerie forces. This visit was intended to review the measures taken from the moment the accident was reported.

The investigation committee also visited the forensic medicine unit, where they confirmed the completion of DNA analysis procedures. The unit confirmed that the remains of the deceased have been accurately identified after matching samples with their relatives.

As a reminder, Lieutenant-General Mohammed al-Haddad, the Libyan Chief of Staff, and his companions tragically died on Tuesday evening near the Turkish capital when their plane crashed. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
