Heavy Rain and Snowfall Expected Across Several Algerian Regions

Algiers, Algeria – Several regions of Algeria are bracing for inclement weather as forecasts predict heavy rainfall and snowfall across the northern parts of the country. DZWatch has learned that the National Meteorological Office anticipates that the western provinces will experience significant rainfall starting tomorrow, Sunday.

Higher elevations, specifically those exceeding 1200 meters, are expected to see snowfall. The affected provinces include Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, El Bayadh, Naama, and Bechar.

Meanwhile, the central and eastern regions are predicted to enjoy sunny skies. However, the weather in the western regions will fluctuate between sunny and rainy conditions. A cold wave is also expected to impact the provinces of Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Batna, Khenchela, and Tebessa.

Coastal temperatures are expected to range between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius, while inland areas will experience temperatures between 6 and 17 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds could reach up to 30 kilometers per hour.

The southern regions will see a mix of sunny and cloudy conditions. Snowfall is possible on the peaks of Mount Antar during the day. Temperatures in the south will range from 13 to 30 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds potentially reaching 40 kilometers per hour.
