Algiers, December 27, 2025 – The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Center for Legal and Judicial Research, is organizing a series of workshops in Algiers starting this Sunday, focusing on combating human trafficking.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, the workshops will center around the “Legal framework for combating human trafficking and standards for protecting victims.”

The workshops, held at the Judges’ Residence, will host approximately one hundred participants, including judges, police officers, and members of the National Committee for the Prevention and Fight against Trafficking in Persons.

The event will also feature experts and executives from the central administration and researchers from the Center for Legal and Judicial Research.

The workshops, scheduled to run until Tuesday, aim to “strengthen the capabilities of judges and judicial police services in combating human trafficking crimes and utilizing investigation mechanisms.”

Furthermore, the initiative seeks to “identify victims through a comprehensive approach based on crime prevention and the deterrence of those involved.” This includes fostering a victim-centered approach.

The sessions will also focus on protecting and caring for victims, as well as promoting and enhancing national and international cooperation and coordination, while upholding human rights.

These workshops underscore Algeria’s commitment to fighting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable populations. The Ministry of Justice sees the workshops as an important step in building capacity and raising awareness amongst key stakeholders.
