Algiers, December 29, 2025 – The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has announced the opening of a recruitment competition for male police officers for the year 2025. The recruitment will be based on competitive examinations.
According to an official statement released by the DGSN, the competition is open to candidates interested in serving in the police services of the provinces of Chlef, Blida, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Algiers, Djelfa, Medea, M’Sila, Boumerdes, Ain Defla, and Tipaza.
The statement further detailed that application forms can be downloaded and printed from the official website and digital platforms of the Algerian Police. Interested candidates can also find comprehensive information regarding the eligibility criteria and application procedures on these platforms.
In a related announcement, the DGSN also declared the launch of a recruitment drive for principal police officers, open to both male and female candidates. This recruitment will be based on academic qualifications. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in higher education, or an equivalent qualification, in fields such as Mathematics or Computer Science – Artificial Intelligence.
The DGSN clarified that candidates wishing to participate in this specific competition must submit their application files exclusively at the district police headquarters or the relevant provincial security directorates in their respective areas.
This recruitment drive signifies the ongoing efforts of the Algerian police force to strengthen its ranks and enhance its capabilities in maintaining law and order across the country.
