Algiers – The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held a national conference today focusing on the role of scientific and technological institutions in bolstering the national economy. The conference, held at the ministry’s headquarters, was overseen by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, and included representatives from the Ministry of National Defense and other ministerial sectors.
According to a statement from the ministry, the conference aimed to strengthen the role of scientific research institutions in the national economy and increase their contribution to productive and technological projects. Discussions centered on integrating research institutions into economic and productive ventures.
During the conference, several achievements were highlighted, including the establishment of 80 executive partnerships based on innovative projects. Furthermore, 539 research findings have been registered in the national valorization register, resulting in 127 technical and service products derived from these findings. This represents a significant step towards translating research into tangible economic benefits.
Emphasis was also placed on strengthening partnerships with the economic sector through the creation of 77 permanent mixed research teams. Research incubators have attracted investments totaling 2.8 billion dinars, demonstrating the growing potential of research and development in driving economic growth. The Ministry views these initiatives as crucial for fostering innovation and promoting sustainable development across various sectors of the Algerian economy.
