Algeria and Spain Launch Student Exchange Program

Oran, Algeria – A new student exchange program between Algeria and Spain is set to open doors for enhanced academic collaboration. The University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed has announced the renewal of its exchange agreement with the University of Alicante in Spain for a period of four years.

This agreement builds upon a previous successful partnership between the two institutions from 2017-2021. It underscores a shared commitment to fostering academic mobility and international exposure for both students and faculty members.

Under the terms of the agreement, each university will have the opportunity to send two students per academic year, or two students per semester, to the partner institution. The exchange program is open to students from all disciplines and faculties, provided they demonstrate a proficient command of either Spanish or English.

Participating students will be exempt from tuition fees at the host university, making the exchange a more accessible and attractive educational opportunity. The agreement was formalized through an online signing ceremony between Amparo Navarro Faure, Rector of the University of Alicante, and Ahmed Chaalal, Rector of the University of Oran 2 Mohamed Ben Ahmed.

Both universities have pledged to provide international training opportunities for students and to encourage academic, scientific, and cultural exchange between the two institutions. This program is expected to significantly contribute to the internationalization of higher education in both Algeria and Spain, and foster stronger ties between the two countries.
