Algiers, December 29, 2025 – The High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption has announced the referral of fifteen corruption cases to the relevant regional public prosecutors. In addition, two files have been submitted to the Court of Accounts. These cases stem from a total of eighteen files examined by the Authority, all potentially involving corrupt practices.
The announcement followed the High Authority’s fourth ordinary session held on Sunday, presided over by Mrs. Salima Messarati and attended by its members. During the session, the council approved the Authority’s activity report for the year 2025.
The annual meeting also saw the approval of the High Authority’s action plan for 2026, as well as the draft budget for the upcoming year. Discussions were held regarding the implementation and expenditure of the annual budget for 2025.
Furthermore, as part of efforts to strengthen corruption prevention and combatting measures, and to foster cooperation with international bodies and organizations, cooperation projects and agreements with counterpart agencies in allied nations were examined. These initiatives were previously discussed during the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties, held in Doha, Qatar.
The High Authority emphasized its commitment to upholding transparency and accountability within Algeria’s institutions and its dedication to pursuing all instances of alleged corruption rigorously.
