Research-based business incubators in Algeria have successfully attracted investments totaling DZD 2.8 billion, demonstrating a significant increase in the recognition of scientific research as a catalyst for innovation and economic development. This was announced by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, during his supervision of the national symposium for institutions of a scientific and technological nature.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, as well as various other ministerial sectors. Minister Baddari highlighted the successful integration of research institutions into economic and productive projects. He noted that the number of executive partnerships built upon innovative projects has reached 80, signifying a strong link between research and practical application.
The Minister further elaborated on the monitoring and registration of research outcomes, revealing that 539 results have been registered in the National Valorization Registry. This includes 127 technical and service products derived directly from these research findings. These figures underscore the tangible impact of research on the Algerian economy.
Furthermore, collaboration with the economic sector has been strengthened through the establishment of 77 permanent joint research teams. This initiative aims to foster closer ties between researchers and industry professionals, ensuring that research efforts are aligned with the needs of the market. The Ministry views these developments as crucial steps in building a knowledge-based economy and promoting sustainable growth across various sectors.
