Algiers, November 30, 2025 – State Secretary in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, participated in a virtual meeting with a select group of Algerian students and graduates from prestigious European institutions. The event also saw the participation of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouahd.
According to a statement released, the meeting, a follow-up to previous engagements between the State Secretary and university students in various European countries, was organized by the Association of Algerian Students and Executives in France (ECAF) in collaboration with the Algerian General Consulate in Paris. Executives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research were also present.
This interactive session provided an opportunity for the government officials to emphasize the importance the state places on national talents abroad, particularly students. Efforts and incentives across various sectors were highlighted, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the aspirations of this demographic and bolstering their role as active drivers of development.
The meeting also served as a platform for discussing concrete proposals and ideas put forth by the participants. The government representatives affirmed their commitment to carefully considering these suggestions and addressing them with the attention they deserve. The dialogue underscored the government’s dedication to fostering a strong connection with Algerian students studying abroad and encouraging their contribution to the nation’s progress.
The discussions focused on ways to facilitate the return of skilled graduates to Algeria and create opportunities for them to contribute to the country’s economic and social development. The government reiterated its commitment to providing a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging students to consider starting their own businesses in Algeria.
