Algeria Braces for Rain and Cold Snap Across Multiple Provinces

Algiers, December 29, 2025 – Several provinces across Algeria are preparing for a spell of inclement weather, with forecasts predicting thunderstorms and a significant drop in temperatures starting tomorrow, Tuesday.

The National Meteorological Office issued an advisory today, Monday, outlining the regions expected to experience rainfall. According to the report, the provinces of El Tarf, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Algiers, Tipaza, Chlef, Mostaganem, Oran, Relizane, and Ain Temouchent are all likely to see thunderstorms.

In addition to the rain, a cold wave is anticipated to affect several inland and eastern provinces. The advisory indicates that Tebessa, Khenchela, Batna, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Djelfa, Laghouat, El Bayadh, and Naama should prepare for a noticeable decrease in temperatures.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates. Drivers are urged to exercise caution on the roads, especially in areas with heavy rainfall. Authorities are also on alert and prepared to respond to any weather-related emergencies.
