Empowering a Million Students Through Entrepreneurship Awareness Campaign

The entrepreneurship awareness campaign, aimed at enriching a million university students with entrepreneurial skills, officially commenced today at the University of Algiers 1, Benyoucef Benkhedda. This initiative, orchestrated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Startups, represents a strategic move to inject entrepreneurial vigor into the academic sphere. The director of the University of Algiers 1, Fares Makhtari, lauded the Higher Education Ministry’s decision to launch the campaign, expressing hope for its success and the prospects of fostering future entrepreneurs among students. Coinciding with the official launch of Entrepreneurship Week and the period for confirming graduation project topics, Makhtari emphasized the campaign’s role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, encouraging students to embrace innovative approaches to their final projects.

In a parallel statement, Nassima Rahab, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Startups, revealed that the national committee for the startup label had registered over 5,000 requests, with 2,000 individuals successfully obtaining the startup label.

Rahab affirmed the ministry’s commitment to providing every possible facilitation in the realm of entrepreneurship, regardless of its nature or direction. Echoing this sentiment, Ahmed Meir, head of the Innovation Monitoring Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the state’s support for student innovation and job creation, which he believes will lead to the desired development and improve the national economy.
