The Ministry of Health announced that over 3.8 million children across the country were vaccinated between December 21st and 30th, 2025.

According to the Ministry, the campaign targeted children aged between two months and five years. The vaccination drive achieved an impressive coverage rate of 96 percent. This high rate underscores the effectiveness of the national strategy for preventative healthcare, aligning with recommendations from the World Health Organization.

The Ministry of Health expressed its gratitude for the dedicated efforts of healthcare professionals, various partner ministries, the media, and civil society organizations. Special appreciation was extended to parents for their awareness and cooperation, which significantly contributed to the success of this phase of the campaign.

Looking ahead, the Ministry urges parents to ensure their children are vaccinated during the third phase, scheduled for January 25th to 31st, 2026. Completing the full vaccination schedule remains the primary guarantee for protecting children’s health and strengthening community immunity against polio.

The Algerian government is committed to eradicating polio and safeguarding the health of its youngest citizens through comprehensive vaccination programs.
