Blida, January 3, 2026 – Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, emphasized the critical importance of adherence to standards and diligence in the ongoing teacher recruitment process. He stated that the process is intrinsically linked to the rights of all candidates and must be managed with utmost care.
Speaking at the opening of a training day for the General Secretaries of the Wilaya Directorates of Education in Blida, Minister Saadaoui highlighted that the adoption of a certificate-based teacher recruitment system would provide the sector with numerous benefits. “We aim to achieve and realize specific objectives through this particular type of competitive examination,” he stated.
Regarding the training day, the Minister explained that it aligns with the Ministry’s policy of strengthening the competencies of General Secretaries and reinforcing their pivotal roles in administrative, financial, and digital management. This training initiative also reflects the sector’s commitment to enhancing the skills of its personnel to effectively assimilate and implement new programs launched by the Ministry. It coincides with a comprehensive assessment of older educational institutions to determine whether they should remain in service or be decommissioned, according to the Minister.
Minister Saadaoui added that the meeting is part of the preparations for the Directorates of Education nationwide to assume responsibility for the construction of educational institutions, as well as health and sports units. He also underscored the sector’s achievements in improving the quality of education through the establishment of three specialized mathematics institutions, with plans to expand to other subjects in the future.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to further training General Secretaries by providing them with the necessary professional skills for effective administrative, financial, and pedagogical management. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the functional relationship between the General Secretary and the Director of Education, as well as with various departments.
